The Bar Steward should have good experience in the field of hospitality and bar work, and be prepared to organise the fortnightly rota, ensure that bar hygiene practices are adhered to, and be on call for the bar staff should they need help while on shift.

While the Bar Stewards are expected to take on a high level of responsibility, it is important that they are personable and approachable individuals, taking on any constructive criticism offered by the student body and making improvements accordingly. The Bar Stewards should aim to lead a close-knit and friendly bar team in creating a fun and inviting bar atmosphere, where the staff enjoy working and to which the customers want to return.

The Bar Steward role is also an exec role at Josephine Butler college, and should expect to attend weekly exec meetings in addition to Bar committee meetings.

Chilled Frep

The Chilled Frep is responsible for organising and co-ordinating chilled events during Freshers' Week, for students looking for more relaxed activities as an alternative to the main events. One of the best things about Butler is how inclusive it is, and we are here to make sure there is something for everyone. There will be events throughout the day as well as each evening, and the Chilled events are for everyone, to pop in and out of whenever they like.

Swara Fife (2017/2018)

Hi, I'm Swara, and I'm a second year Japanese Studies student at Butler! You may remember me from such performances as the Butler Murder Mystery Formal last year - although I promise I'm much nicer than my role might have suggested! I've been elected as joint president of STAB, and am hoping to make our performances bigger and better for the upcoming year without compromising the fun and dynamic community that has been nurtured by our previous presidents. I'm joint Chilled Frep for Fresher's Week 2017, and am working to provide Freshers with a wider choice of events, whilst trying my best to improve on the great example set by the previous year's Chilled Freps. Alongside my roles within Butler College, I am president of Anglo-Japanese Scoeity (what am I like?!). If you have questions relating to STAB, AJS, or anything at all, really, feel free to contact me any time!
